Rock Band

EA, MTV Games, and Harmonix are ready for an encore.

After devoting last year's installment of the Rock Band franchise entirely to The Beatles, Harmonix and MTV Games are getting back to their roots. The pair announced via Facebook Tuesday that Rock Band 3 is set for release this holiday season. Electronic Arts will once again be handling distribution duties.

The Facebook status update promises that Rock Band 3 "will innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again," but provides no other details. Platforms, new features, song lists, and other details will be revealed at a later date.

We'll see. These games are really popular. But then again, you may be right. Gamers always demand "new" types of games. Just like when the original Wolfenstien and Doom were so popular almost 30 years ago. You NEVER see any games like that anymore. In fact, 1st person shooter games have completely dissappeared from the gaming world. NOT!

I started playing the music games on Rock Band. I really enjoyed Rock Band 2 and I still play it today. My hope is that Rock Band 3 will be a nice upgrade that adds the extra microphones idea form the Beatles Rock Band and that all my downloaded music will still be playable in the new version. It?s time for an update. I love getting the new downloaded tracks that they put out but a new updated version of the full game is just what I was hoping for. Please make sure the light and smoke kit that I own will work with the new version. The light and smoke kit did not work on the Beatles or the Lego?s versions of the game. I personally believe that the new Rock Band 3 will have good sales because they have not just been putting out one new version after another like other music games. I hope they have a really good selection of new music and play functions. I love to party like a rock star. :-)

if rock band 3 is to be "innovative" they have to find a way to combat powergig: rise of the six string cause right now there slacking off. guitar hero i believe i cleaning the poop left behind rock band but powergig has me sold and i havent seen a gameply vid. AND powergigs controllers are cross compatible. can't wait to see the drumset they use

Really? I'm not sure I like Powergig better. Let me think about it. When I was playing Powergig......oh wait. I NEVER played Powergig and either did you! The bottom line on this is that while Powergig appears to be taking it to the next level, I don't think it is going to fly. Quite frankly, the next level is to just PLAY THE REAL GUITAR. RB and GH are GAMES, and I am pretty sure that is what people want. If they wanted more than a game, they would just buy a guitar and learn how to play it. Expecially since the guitar has been available since certuries before PONG.
I play the guitar and RB and GH. One is a real thing and the others are games. My bet is that Powergig tanks.

The keyboard can be used as a MIDI keyboard, and the note highway will shift so the correct keys are covered. New guitars are also going to be released along with Rock Band 3 that take advantage of the new Pro mode. http://www.hindujagroup.com/
